Project Overview

In collaboration with acclaimed Indian designer Rajesh Pratap Singh, our design team embarked on a project to create a unique tee-shirt collection inspired by the energy and ethos of legendary musicians from the “old rock world.” The aim was to infuse Singh’s signature style with the spirit of music, resulting in a collection that transcends traditional fashion boundaries.

Problem Statement

The challenge was to develop tee-shirt designs that not only captured the essence of iconic musicians but also reflected Rajesh Pratap Singh’s penchant for clean lines, meticulous detailing, and international silhouettes. It was imperative to strike a balance between paying homage to the music and integrating it seamlessly into the designer’s aesthetic vision.

Our Approach

Our approach centered on a collaborative process that involved close interaction with Rajesh Pratap Singh himself. Drawing inspiration from the music of select artists, we delved deep into their discography, lyrics, and ethos. Through a fusion of research, experimentation, and creative exploration, we developed prints that embodied the essence of the music, avoiding literal representations in favor of abstract interpretations. Constant dialogue, sharing of resources such as books, music, and documentaries, and a mutual exchange of ideas ensured that each print was infused with the spirit of collaboration. Additionally, the designer’s input played a crucial role in refining the prints, with cropping and angle alignments being meticulously adjusted to align with Singh’s aesthetic sensibilities. The result was a collection of tee-shirts that not only celebrated the legacy of rock music but also bore the unmistakable imprint of Rajesh Pratap Singh’s design philosophy.
